Sweet Pricing: The Business of Chocolate

A 45 to 50 minute interactive lesson. Students explore pricing strategies, the market conditions that affect pricing power, and legal limits on pricing. Then they price their own chocolate bar in a simulation.

Includes a pricing simulation, AP-style practice, a lesson plan, and slides. Covers value-based, competitive, cost-based, and penetration pricing; price elasticity; price fixing, predatory pricing, and price gouging; and pricing hypotheses for the Business Canvas Project.
